The following specifications describe extensions to XSLT processing model. These specifications were developed in order to achieve the interoperability between XSLT and other information processing technologies.
Object-Based Extensions in XSL Transformations provide access, in the platform-independent way, to the programming resources implemented using various object-based technologies. The main goal of this specification is to introduce the universal extensibility mechanism for XSLT and to support interoperability between XSLT and various existing object-based technologies.
Database Access Extensions in XSL Transformations provide access to the data stored in relational databases. Using the database access extensions, XSLT stylesheets may implement various data transformation algorithms that involve data stored in XML documents and in relational databases.
Report Generation Extensions in XSL Transformations implement functionality that is usually provided by traditional report generation tools. In particular, sophisticated group/split processing algorithms can be implemented using these extensions.
Text Input Extensions in XSL Transformations implement processing of source data represented in text format.
